The Cone on the Horse

Glasgow Wellington FC badge, the Duke of Wellington horse with a traffic cone

Look closely at our badge, that's a horse with a traffic cone on its head. It's a tribute to Glasgow's most famous landmark: the Duke of Wellington statue, who has worn a cone on his head for decades thanks to the city's cheeky, irrepressible humour. The council has tried to remove it countless times. Glasgow always puts it back.

That spirit, fun, defiant, proudly Glaswegian, is exactly what Glasgow Wellington FC is all about. Founded in 2020, we wear the cone with pride. 🟠

SMAFA Championship 2026/27

League Table

Qualifying Complete. Following a summer restructure, all SMAFA clubs from the Premier League, Championship and Division 1 were seeded, drawn and placed into a qualifying section to determine their level for 2026/27. That process is now finished, and Glasgow Wellington have been placed in the SMAFA Championship. Our first Championship fixture is away to Baillieston Thistle on Saturday 29th August.

Glasgow Wellington FC was founded in 2020 with big ambitions for an amateur club. We've grown into a strong senior squad, built a 7,500+ strong social following across @GlasgowDukes on Instagram, Facebook, X and TikTok, and in 2025/26 we lifted the Glasgow Cup. We compete in the SMAFA every Saturday at grounds across Glasgow, with match recordings, highlights and weekly content reaching thousands of engaged local football fans.

As shirts are made to order and/or personalised, we cannot offer refunds or exchanges for wrong size, change of mind, or customer-entered personalisation mistakes. If your jersey arrives with a clear manufacturing fault or damage, we will offer a full refund or replacement upon return of the faulty item. Please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order at admin@glasgowdukes.co.uk with photos of the fault and your order details.

Jerseys are made to order. UK delivery: 4–8 weeks. International delivery: 6–12 weeks from the date of purchase, including manufacturing time. Shipping is free worldwide. Items are packed and shipped by the club directly. International customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes or charges levied by their own country.
