Co-Managers Lewis Hawke and Scott Davidson Take the Helm
Following the departure of Zander Carruth, Glasgow Wellington faced the challenge of filling the shoes of a manager who brought a wealth of experience and deep tactical knowledge to our club. Zanders contributions to the team were invaluable, and his impact on our style of play and player development will not be forgotten. However, we are excited to announce a new chapter in our story, with two familiar faces stepping into leadership roles.
Current captains, Scott Davidson and Lewis Hawke, have been appointed as co-managers of Glasgow Wellington. The club is confident that their combined expertise and passion for the game will be a great asset in the seasons to come.
Lewis Hawke, who has served as the assistant manager for the past year, is already well-acquainted with the demands of managing the team. His experience in the role means a smooth transition, although his responsibilities will now extend to key decision-making, such as team selection. Lewis's deep understanding of the squad's strengths and areas for growth makes him an ideal candidate to continue guiding the players on and off the pitch.
Scott Davidson, stepping into a coaching role for the first time, brings with him an extensive playing career, having competed for some of the top clubs in the country. His experience under renowned coaches throughout his career has provided him with valuable insights into the game. Scott’s presence is expected to be particularly beneficial to our younger players, as he shares his knowledge and perspective with them, helping to nurture their development.
We believe that the blend of Scott’s fresh coaching perspective and Lewis’s managerial continuity will create a dynamic environment for Glasgow Wellington to thrive. Both have demonstrated leadership on the field as captains, and now, they will aim to translate that leadership to the sidelines (as well as being on the park).
The entire club wishes Lewis and Scott the best of luck for the upcoming season. We are excited about this new chapter and look forward to a long and successful journey under their guidance.
